Deborah Paul - fitness instructor

I am a qualified fitness instructor with 15 years of experience. I also have a certificate in optimum nutrition and advise clients on healthy eating. My Clients are of all ages and fitness levels. I currently take 1-1 sessions and small groups indoors and out and I aim to make it fun! I would like to run small group classes either indoors or outdoors or combined. My indoor classes incorporate light aerobic, resistance, core stability and stretching exercises using a variety of techniques and I have recently taken a ballet barre course which is very popular and can be incorporated into my classes or I can give as a specific class. Outdoors I do a circuit around the Heath extension and include exercises using exercise bands and light weights. All my workouts are full body work outs.
I enjoy taking group classes for younger adults and the over 50s as I also really like working with my older clients who are in their early 70s.

Feldenkrais Classes

Awareness Through Movement classes at Fellowship House, 136A Willifield Way NW11 6YD. Classes will start again from September, please enquire for dates and times. Enjoyable classes for people of all ages who want to improve their posture, co-ordination, and ease of movement. Non-strenuous, the movements are done lying on a mat or sitting. The power of the approach is in the way it directs us to learn from our own sensation - we can notice and let go of unnecessary muscular tension and associated strain. The pace is gentle but the results can be astonishing. The method was developed by Moshe Feldenkrais (1904 - 1984), a distinguished physicist and pioneer in the field of neuro-physical therapy. The teacher, Roberta Perlman. is a fully qualified member of The Feldenkrais Guild UK: http://www.feldenkrais.co.uk

Men's Fitness Classes in the Suburb

Men's Fitness Classes in the Suburb are a fitness solution suitable for men of all ages and current fitness levels. Group and Personal sessions are all based upon the Fitness4x4 Training Method: a mindful approach to personal fitness which emphasises the bringing into closer balance of the energy capacities of the upper body and lower body. It's principle teaching is that Physical Vitality can only truly be expressed in terms of the energy production capacity of our bodies - something that without training radically decreases with age. This energy capacity can only be fully reflected through a synergy of cardiovascular and muscular condition and must be a condition shared by the upper-body systems as much as the lower body (hence '4x4') via exercises that should be mindful in nature, not mindless 'calorie burning' or cosmetic in essence."
Open Group Sessions in the suburb are offered every Tuesday and Friday evening from 7.30-8.30pm at a cost of £10 per person, per class. 6 week One-to-One Courses may be booked following consultation.

Walk and Talk

Walking courses on the Heath. Research shows that walking not only improves your overall fitness, but can prevent osteoporosis, diabetes, depression and is a great way to combat stress. Regular walking for 30 minutes could be enough to prevent excess fat building and clogging the arteries and you can shed a few pounds in the process. Our programme is a unique concept of meditative walking for mind, body and spirit. Each session starts and ends with Pilates-based stretching and breathing exercises. There is a strong social element to this walking club which includes coffee after each walk, lunches and outings. It is an enjoyable and varied programme.
